I am going to present a way how-to dowload Oracle Database 12c Standard Edition - 12.1.0.2

Maybe there is a question .. why i need to add such post? Normally it's should be simple, Go to Oracle Website and download or from Oracle Metalink Support....yes but no :)

What is strange in the new 12c version 

If you go on Oracle web site there are following options:

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html

You can download Oracle Database 12R2 for Linux-x86-64 as one package/installation zip both Standard and Enterprise Edition

But this is not the case for Oracle Database 12R1  there are two packages/installation zip but what is missing... Linux-x86-64, there are distribution for Windows, HP-UX, AIX,zLinux64 but where is linux distribution... on other place :)

Step by Step

1. Go to website https://edelivery.oracle.com, enter your Oracle Account

2. Search for Oracle Database Standard Edition (12c)

3. Select Distribution - Linux-X86-64

4. Now you can select two version of distribution 12.2.0.1 and 12.1.0.2

Then you have to clock on Continue

If you select 12.2.0.1 version you will be able to download following files

.... hmmm what is strange.. why there are only client.. no database distribution.. maybe due to the fact that you are able to download from oracle website without such comlex method.

If you select 12.1.0.2 version you will be able to download following files

Great finally i have Oracle Database Standard Edition 12c
